Waters Recede and Deer Creek Marina Finally Open

The marina at Deer Creek State Park is finally open, after a
soggy spring that kept the business under water well beyond the
start of Ohio’s boating season. The marina is located at 21001
State Route 207 on the park’s west side.

An employee said managers power washed and painted the building in
April. But heavy rains for the next six weeks sent lake water
levels soaring, immersing the marina’s two floors in the
process.

They repeated the washing and painting process on June 1, as waters
began to recede. Official opening was the weekend of June
4-5.

State-owned docks went in June 9 for boat owners who lease seasonal
space.

The marina sells both regular and pre-mixed marine gas, as well as
snacks and boating supplies.

Watercraft for rent by the hour include a variety of pontoon boats
up to 28 feet in length, ski boats, fishing boats, WaveRunners,
canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats.

The marina is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week through the
summer recreational season.
