Nebraska’s Buffalo Bill Ranch SHP and SRA Closed Due to Potential Flooding

Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park and State Recreation
Area (SRA) are closed until further notice because of potential
flooding of the North Platte River, according to the Nebraska Game
and Parks Commission.

Melting snow in the Rocky Mountains has filled reservoirs in the
North Platte River Basin. Because of that, releases from Kingsley
Dam at Lake McConaughy recently have been ramped up.

People looking for camping and water recreation opportunities in
that area may visit Lake Maloney SRA south of North Platte and Lake
McConaughy and Lake Ogallala SRAs near Ogallala.
