Iowa DNR Enforcement Actions

DES MOINES – The Iowa DNR has taken the following enforcement
actions. The following are only briefs; copies of enforcement
actions, including the full, original orders and contact
information, are available on the DNR’s website at

Administrative Orders

Responsible parties have 30 days to appeal the order or 60 days to
pay the penalty.

Dallas County

Gonzalez & Sons Express, LLC

Pay $8,000 penalty for illegal discharge of pollutants to waters of
the state.

Osceola County

Allen Brockshus

Cease illegal open dumping and open burning of solid waste material
and pay $1,000 penalty.

Mega Inc. and Rocky Marco

Cease illegal open dumping and open burning of solid waste material
and pay $1,000 penalty.

Consent Orders

A consent order is issued as an alternative to issuing an
administrative order. A consent order indicates that the DNR has
voluntarily entered into a legally enforceable agreement with the
other party.

Audubon County

City of Audubon

Cease illegal solid waste disposal and open burning activities,
provide training to city employees on DNR’s solid waste and open
burning rules, and pay $2,500 penalty.

Benton County

Benton County

Comply with solid waste rules and DNR permit for the Benton County
Sanitary Landfill and pay $10,000 penalty. The penalty has been
satisfied with a $10,000 payment to the Benton County Conservation
Board for use in supplemental environmental projects in Benton

Sioux County

Van Bruggen Pit Cleaning, Inc.

Ensure employees are properly certified before handling,
transporting or applying manure and pay $2,500 penalty.

Worth County

J. Ward Farms, L.L.C.

Pay $5,000 penalty for past manure management plan violations.
