Don’t be surprised to see extra CPOs on patrol this weekend
during the second firearms deer season. In fact, expect to see
added patrols the rest of this month.
DNR Conservation Police will conduct roadside wildlife
checks statweide and airplane details in southern Illinois during
the month of December.
“Illinois is a great place to fish and hunt and just enjoy the
outdoors but we also want to ensure safety and compliance with
Illinois laws,” DNR Conservation Police Chief Rafael Gutierrez said
while announcing the patrols.
The primary purpose of the roadside fish and wildlife compliance
checks is to detect taking, transporting, possession and other
violations pertaining to fish and wildlife and gather information
relative to public compliance with regulations.
