HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania Game Commission Executive Director
Carl G. Roe, on behalf of the entire agency, today offered praise
for the Pennsylvania State Police’s swift resolution involving the
killing of Wildlife Conservation Officer (WCO) David L. Grove, and
to Gov. Edward G. Rendell for directing that the Commonwealth flag
be lowered to half-staff in honor of WCO Grove.
“Today’s action by the Pennsylvania State Police and other
cooperating law enforcement agencies is characteristic of the
professionalism and partnerships that all Pennsylvanians should be
proud of,” Roe said. “The State Police truly have lived up to their
reputation of being one of the top law enforcement agencies in the
world.
“We also appreciate Gov. Rendell’s action and condolences for the
loss of WCO Grove, who was a dedicated public servant and
officer.”
Roe noted that the U.S. Marshall’s Office, Game Commission WCOs and
Deputy WCOs, and numerous municipal police departments responded to
the scene of last nights incident and assisted the State Police in
this investigation.
