Wildlife officials looking for elk poachers

Hazard, Ky. (AP) – Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officers are
trying to find out who’s responsible for the killing of three elk
over the weekend.

WYMT-TV in Hazard said the young bull elk were found killed in
Bell County on Saturday on top of Redbird Mountain off Kentucky
66.

Officers say witnesses saw an elk fall, then spotted two more
dead elk as they approached the first animal.

The officers recovered several pieces of evidence, including
ballistic evidence.

Commissioner Jon Gassett is authorizing a reward of up to $1,000
for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those
responsible.
