West Virgina park to make trout fishing area for disabled

Camp Creek, W.Va. (AP) – Work is under
way at Camp Creek State Park to create a trout fishing area
accessible to anglers who use wheelchairs.

The site is near the Marsh Creek Falls in the Mercer County
park.

Mike Shingleton with the state Division of Natural Resources
says he knows of only two other wheelchair-accessible trout fishing
areas in the state. Both are on the Blackwater River.

Mercer County Commissioner Jay Mills spearheaded the effort to
establish the area at Camp Creek. Mills says his uncle loved trout
fishing but had to give it up after he began using a
wheelchair.
