Winning waterfowl, pheasant stamp artists named in WI

Madison, Wis. (AP) – Artists from Ladysmith and Campbellsport
have won Wisconsin hunting stamp contests with their paintings of
wildlife.

The Department of Natural Resources says Craig Fairbert’s
depiction of a wood duck pair won the 2010 waterfowl stamp contest
among 23 entries. He is from Ladysmith. William Millonig’s painting
of a rooster pheasant taking flight won the pheasant stamp contest
among 10 entries. He is from Campbellsport.

Both artists have won DNR wildlife stamp contests in the
past.

Proceeds from the sale of the $7 waterfowl stamps, which duck
and goose hunters must buy, are used for developing and maintaining
wetlands habitat.

Pheasant hunters must buy the $10 pheasant stamp, producing
revenue to maintain wild pheasants in Wisconsin.
