Adirondacks

Most Adirondack trout waters – the West Branch of the Ausable,
the Saranac, the Black River, West Canada Creek, to name a few –
have been fishing well. Look for stoneflies now; a tandem rig of a
dry fly and nymph should be productive. Keep an eye on water
temperatures if we should get a heat wave. If that’s the case,
limit your fishing to early morning to avoid stressing the
trout.

On Lake Champlain, most bass are in the post-spawn now and
should be found at about 15-25 feet. Tubes and deep-diving
crankbaits should work well. Lake trout action continues to be good
for trollers going deep. A few landlocks are also being taken.
