Charrleston, W.Va. (AP) – The West
Virginia Division of Natural Resources is opening up the state’s
rivers and streams for free fishing this weekend.
The two-day event caps off a series of events as part of this
week’s National Fishing and Boating Week.
This weekend, residents and nonresidents can fish without first
obtaining a license.
DNR Director Frank Jezioro (JEZ’-uh-roh) said the free weekend
is meant to remind people that fishing is a fun pastime that can
last a life time.
The DNR will be co-sponsoring fishing derbies on Saturday at the
Bowden Hatchery in Randolph County and Little Beaver State Park in
Raleigh County.
