Augusta, Maine (AP) – Maine officials are encouraging people to
get out on the state’s lakes and rivers by offering a weekend of
free fishing.
The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife says the Family
Free Fishing Days on Saturday and Sunday are open to anyone except
people whose licenses have been revoked or suspended.
The event is the final of two free-fishing weekends offered this
year.
The state sells about 286,000 fishing licenses annually.
