Gordon, Shawnee lakes (Bedford County) – Warming water spurred
bluegills, perch, and crappies in the shallow bays, and anglers
were catching fish on worms, minnows and maggot-tipped twister
tails. Numbers of bass also were reported.

Raystown Lake (Huntingdon County) – Striped bass are continuing
to move south and made for productive angling from Shy Beaver
south. Crappies were caught off blowdowns in recent weeks.

Canoe Lake (Blair County) – Anglers caught trout, pickerel and
bass in the stumps at ice-out.

Little Juniata River (Huntingdon, Blair counties) – Anglers did
well in recent weeks in the March 3-stocked delayed-harvest
section.

Juniata River – Smallmouth bass fishing was productive in recent
weeks, with fish holding in deeper, slow-moving holes and pockets
and hitting live bait, plastic grubs and lures.

Susquehanna River (Dauphin County) – Bass fishing continued to
improve on tubes and twisters.

Lower Susquehanna River (York County) – Jay Lapham, of
Dallastown, caught a 171/2-inch, 31/4-pound crappie with 14-inch
girth in March.
