Harrisburg – Compared with hunting license sales, sales of
trapping licenses skyrocketed in Pennsylvania last year, and older
furtakers drove the greatest gains, according to the Pennsylvania
Game Commission’s latest license sales statistics.
Senior lifetime furtaking tags rose a whopping 300 percent,
compared with a 23 percent increase in senior lifetime hunters. And
while sales of basic adult hunting tags inched up 1 percent, sales
of adult furtaking permits increased by 7 percent. About 2 percent
fewer youths bought trapping licenses, but non-resident adult
furtaking doubled.
