A nice warming trend along with it a drop in the barometer that
brought in some great panfish action. Crappie action is very good.
Fish in 10 to 14 feet of water near weeds, using minnows on
tip-downs, waxies on Russian spoons, and bright-colored plastics on
No. 8 Rockers. Anglers fishing over deeper mud and sand grass for
suspended fish are using crappie minnows or small rosies below
tip-downs, or are jigging Moon Glos tipped with waxies. Perch and
bluegill action is very good. Weed perch are in 8 to 10 feet of
water, and the deep mud flats are producing nicer fish on average.
Rosie reds on tip-downs over 20 to 30 feet on the mud flats are
working the best, it seems. For bluegills, the best action has been
midmorning and late afternoon.
