With ice fishing essentially done for the winter, anglers are
now turning to open water possibilities on the famed Catskill trout
waters. Right now, however, they’re limited by high water and cold
temperatures. Snowmelt and spring rains will likely make it
challenging to wet a line, but for those who must, keep in mind
that most rivers are closed with the exception of the special
regulations areas of the Beaverkill and Willowemoc as well as parts
of the lower West Branch of the Delaware and the border waters of
the main stem of the Delaware. Who knows?_By the end of the month
you might even see some small caddis hatches.
