DNR would also like to thank The Conservation Fund’s Freshwater
Institute in Shepherdstown, W.Va, the
institute donated over than 26,000 adult rainbow trout to the State
of Maryland in 2008. The donation made it possible for many folks
to catch a trout of a life time from one of our many special trout
management areas. To read the entire press release please click

The DNR trout stocking program is funded entirely by the sale of
freshwater fishing licenses, trout stamps and Federal Sportfish
Restoration Program (Wallop-Breaux) funds which are generated by
anglers and boaters’ tax dollars.
