Lake Wallenpaupack (Pike County) – Large pickerel and smallmouth
bass were reported on minnows in recent weeks. Smallmouths also
were coming on spoons jigged vertically, with some fish topping 3
pounds.
Lackawaxen River (Pike County) – Crankbaits, spinners and
mealworms were working well on trout in recent weeks.
Lake Greely (Pike County) – Good panfishing was reported in
recent weeks, with shore fishermen using mealworms under
floats.
Shohola Lake (Pike County) – A nice panfish bite was reported in
recent weeks, with anglers catching fish on mealworms under
floats.
Mauch Chunk Lake (Carbon County) – A slow bass bite was reported
in recent weeks.
Beltzville Lake (Carbon County) – Although bass fishing was
reportedly slow, walleyes and hybrid stripers were biting for some
anglers.
Lehigh River – Numbers of trout were reported in recent weeks,
with many fish ranging from 15 to 18 inches. Some anglers were
releasing their limits in a few hours of fishing. Local streams,
such as Mahoning, Pohopoco, Bushkill, and Mauch Chunk, also were
productive.
