Very cold water has resulted in scattered fish and a challenging
bite. Recent gales and severe weather have resulted in unseasonably
cool surface temps in the 44- to 47-degree range. Trout and salmon
are being caught at depths from 50 to 150 feet on both dodger/fly
combos and J-plugs, and charter boats are averaging five-fish
trips. When weather permits surface temps to return to normal
summer levels, the bite should improve.
