Fox Chain O’ Lakes: Triangle reports varied species being taken
on a regular basis. Bluegill remain the best bite, including some
good ones, on waxworms; start looking in 8 feet on Channel,
Catherine and Marie. Walleye are good on Marie, including some
larger ones, on medium to large roaches on tip-ups or large
fatheads on jig rods. White and yellow bass are spotty on Marie in
20-25 feet. Some nice perch on Marie, south shore in 12 feet.

Mazonia: Lakes at both units are open for ice fishing at your
own risk.

Braidwood: Reopens March 1.

LaSalle: Reopens March 15.

Heidecke: Reopens April 1.

Lake Michigan (Chicago Area): Willie Ow reports that shore perch
action is picking up. Steelhead are being taken around the Burnham
pipe. Harbor ice is spotty. Good perch action at Belmont and
Montrose.

Henry’s Bait and Tackle in Chicago (312) 225-8538

Lake Michigan (Waukegan): A few steelhead are being caught
slip-bobbering with live roaches, spawn sacs or frozen shiners in
Waukegan harbors.
