Reports for Lake Champlain from Norm’s Bait and Tackle Shop in
Port Henry/Crown Point indicate fishermen are catching perch and
landlocked salmon near Port Henry. Some salmon have been caught
while jigging for perch. Also, bluegills are being caught in South
Bay.

The Adirondack Fish Hatchery in Lake Clear has stocked
catchable-size landlocked Atlantic salmon in Seventh Lake, Lake
Eaton and Lake Colby.

Reports indicate that walleyes are still being caught in Great
Sacandaga Lake near Sport Island.

Eagle Lake in Essex County has been producing some nice brown
trout. Reports indicate they are being taken 12-24 feet down over
35 feet of water with medium shiners.

West Lake in Fulton County has been producing good numbers of
pickerel, perch, and a few nice crappies.

According to the Blue Line Sport Shop in Saranac Lake, the smelt
fishing has been good in Upper Saranac Lake.

Brown trout and landlocked salmon have been caught in Lake Colby
and Lake Clear. Some have been caught using small minnows and
Swedish pimples.

Reports from the Red Top Inn Bait Shop in Tupper Lake indicate
northern pike and lake trout have been biting in Tupper Lake in the
Rock Island Bay area of the lake.

In Raquette Pond, the northern pike fishing has been good. Smelt
are hitting in Rollins Pond. Lake Eaton in Hamilton County has been
producing nice perch, brown trout, and landlocked salmon. Schroon
Lake in Essex County is frozen and fishermen have been catching
lake trout and landlocked salmon.
