Fox Chain O Lakes: Jeff Coia said most anglers are targeting the
south side of Channel Lake. You can park at the Thirsty Turtle.
Crappie action is best before sunrise and then at sunset. During
the day bluegills and perch are biting. Five to 8 inches of ice is
present in the bays. In the main lakes the ice is iffy at best.

Lake Michigan (Chicago Area): Willie Ow reports that shore perch
action is picking up. Steelhead are being taken around the Burnham
pipe. Harbor ice is spotty. Good perch action at Belmont and
Montrose.

slip-bobbering with live roaches, spawn sacs or frozen shiners in
