North Park (Allegheny County) – Anglers unable to fish the river
have been heading to this small impoundment, which is yielding
catches of stocked trout.
Allegheny River – High, fast-moving murky water has made fishing
very difficult in recent days and pressure was practically
non-existent earlier this month.
Ohio River – Water was high but fairly calm in early December,
although cold weather put a damper on fishing. Pressure was fairly
high before the recent snowfall, with walleye anglers catching nice
numbers and sizes.
Youghiogheny Reservoir (Fayette County) – Anglers have reported
a couple of 5-plus-pound walleyes on Vibe blade baits in 28 feet of
water in recent weeks. Some 3-pound smallmouth bass and nice rock
bass also have been taken.
