Lake St. Clair
Muskie fishing has been good on Lake St. Clair. Anglers running
perch off planer boards report good success off the Belle River
Hump, and on the American side of the lake in 12 to 14 feet of
water from the mouth of river down to the Nine Mile Tower. Bass
fishing has been hot up and down the American side of the

Irish Hills Area
Bass fishing has been very good on Clark Lake. Anglers are
catching good numbers of fish off the weedbeds on crawlers,
minnows, and tube baits. Bluegills and sunfish are hitting crickets
and leaf worms fished along the weedbeds on Wamplers Lake. Anglers
report catching ‘eyes on Sand Lake.

Fishing has been good around Lake Orion. Smallmouth bass are
hitting white spinnerbaits and golden shiners on Squaw Lake.
Largemouth bass and crappies are hitting on Lake Orion, and
bluegills are hitting teardrops and wax worms fished in 12 to 20
feet of water.

Fishing has been very good around Pontiac. Bass are hitting
suckers, nightcrawlers, topwater baits, and spinnerbaits on Pontiac
Lake. A few decent pike also have been caught. Walleye anglers
report a very good bite on crawlers fished at the south end of the
lake. Anglers are catching fair numbers of walleyes and smallmouth

Luna Pier Area
Walleye fishing remains hot on Lake Erie. Anglers trolling
crawler harnesses and small spoons are taking fish in 17 to 18 feet
of water just past Toledo Beach. Lots of fish are running in the
18- to 25-inch range, and last week one angler caught a

St. Joseph Area
Salmon and steelhead fishing remains good on Lake Michigan.
Anglers trolling dodgers and flies or chartreuse and green spoons
report good action in 60 to 90 feet of water, 50 to 60 feet down. A
few cohos also are mixing in with the catch. Catfish and walleye
fishing have been fair in the St. Joseph River, but the water level

Bluegills are hitting on most local lakes including Eagle and
Miner. The best action has been coming to anglers fishing wax worms
and leaf worms in 6 to 8 feet of water. Bass fishing also has been
hot, with good action coming in 8 to 15 feet of water.

Some bluegills are still bedding on Clinger, Cory, Long, and
Shavehead lakes while others are being caught in up to 30 feet of

Salmon fishing has been pretty good on Lake Michigan at South
Haven. Anglers trolling green and blue spoons in 130 feet of water,
60 feet down, report good success. Perch fishing is picking up on
Lake Michigan with anglers catching good numbers of fish in 15 feet
of water south of the pier at South Haven. Pike fishing has been
very good on Long Lake with sucker minnows producing good results.
Pike are hitting at Pine Creek. Smallmouth bass anglers fishing the
Kalamazoo River report a good bite on tubes and spinnerbaits fished
between Galesburg and Comstock. Perch are hitting minnows on Austin
Lake. Crappies are hitting small white crankbaits and slider grubs
on Portage Lake.

Anglers are picking up good numbers of kings and steelhead in 70 to
100 feet of water, 50 to 70 feet down. Perch fishing has been great
in 30 to 40 feet of water north of Holland in front of Spy Glass
and south of Holland in front of Castle Park. A few walleyes are
being caught on Lake Macatawa.

Walleye fishing has been excellent on Saginaw Bay. Anglers
trolling crawler harnesses and spoons in 18 to 22 feet of water
report good success. Perch fishing is picking up 18 feet of water
at the south end of the Black Hole.

The hex hatch is still holding on the Pere Marquette River and
anglers report catching good numbers of brown trout at Walhalla.
It’s pretty much terrestrial fishing for browns and small rainbows

lakes and the Martini Chain of Lakes. The best action is coming on

Walleye fishing has been very good on Muskegon Lake. Anglers
trolling spinner rigs in 14 to 18 feet of water report a good bite.
Smallies and walleyes are being caught off the walls in the
Muskegon Lake Channel. Salmon fishing has been very good in Lake
Michigan. Anglers are trolling spoons and dodgers.

in 60 to 100 feet of water, 30 to 60 feet down, report a good bite
just north and just south of Ludington. On Hamlin Lake, anglers
report very good walleye fishing with nightcrawler harnesses

Walleye fishing has been hot in Lake Huron. Anglers trolling
with crawler harnesses and Hot ‘N Tots report taking good numbers
of fish two miles west and four miles south of Little Charity
Island in 10 to 14 feet of water. Walleyes are hitting off Oak
Point, Sleeper State Park, and at The Can at Port Austin. Most of
the fish are running in the 15- to 18-inch range. Perch fishing has
been fair at the Mud Flats off Sand Point in 14 to 16 feet of

Harbor Beach Area
Lake trout and a fair number of salmon are being caught by
anglers trolling spoons, and dodgers and flies in Lake Huron. Jumbo
perch fishing has been excellent at Port Sanilac. The best action
is coming to anglers fishing in 18 to 30 feet of water from a mile
south of the harbor all the way to Deckerville Road. Anglers are
picking up an occasional walleye on bottom bouncers fished inside
the harbor at Harbor Beach.

Walleye fishing remains hot in the St. Clair River. A good bite
has been reported by anglers fishing at the mouth of the river at
the green buoy. A good bite also has been reported downstream at
the Pine River.

East Jordan Area
Walleye fishing has been good on Lake Charlevoix. Anglers are
catching fish in 20 to 32 feet of water on the main lake, and in 15
foot depths in the South Arm. Nightcrawler harnesses and bottom
bouncers have been the ticket to success. Trout fishing has been
very good on the Jordan River with brookies, browns, and a lot of
rainbows in the 15- to 18-inch range being taken. Salmon fishing
has been on fire in Lake Michigan off Charlevoix. Anglers are
running spoons and dodgers and flies 50 to 90 down over 120 to 200
feet of water. Whitefish are hitting in Lake Michigan in 70 to 90
feet of water off Elk Rapids.

Huron. Anglers are catching fish 35 to 60 feet down in 60 to 120

Walleye fishing has been very good in Raber Bay. Anglers fishing

Drummond Island Area
Herring and whitefish are hitting around Long Island outside
Maxton and Scotts bays. Teardrops tipped with wax worms are working
well. Smallmouth bass fishing has been very good in 6 to 10 feet of
water all around Drummond Island.

Anglers on Lake Huron report a decent salmon bite in the Straits
of Mackinac. Spoons, and dodgers and flies are producing good
