St. Paul — The rapid loss of snow in north-central Minnesota has prompted the DNR to expand the spring burning restrictions to include an additional 19 counties. Burning restrictions go into effect in nine counties at 8 a.m. on April 11; restrictions fo

The counties affected by the April 11 burning restrictions include all or portions of Cass, Crow Wing, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Otter Tail, Pine, Todd, and Wadena. Burning restrictions for the following counties begin April 15: Aitkin, Becker, Beltrami, Carlton, Cass, Clearwater, Hubbard, Itasca, Mahnomen, and St. Louis.
