Shooting deer within Duluth city limits has been prohibited for
at least 10 years. The idea to hold a hunt has gained momentum with
more frequent car-deer accidents and reports of deer dining on
people’s shrubs and gardens.
Opponents of a hunt are concerned about the danger. They also
say the deer give Duluth a woodsy, rustic quality. Hermantown and
Superior, Wis. already allow bowhunting.
