Madelia, Minn. Sharon Goetz has been selected as the new DNR wild turkey research biologist at the Madelia Farmland Wildlife Populations and Research Station. She succeeds Wendy Krueger, who accepted a position as area wildlife manager in Slayton.

Goetz will be responsible for conducting wild turkey research; handling the wild turkey population and hunting season modeling; conducting wild turkey population estimates, and hunter and landowner surveys; and assisting on pheasant and CRP research. St. Paul The Minnesota DNR is offering a variety of gift items at discounted prices during its pre-holiday sale, Nov. 16-17, in the cafeteria of the DNR building at 500 Lafayette Road in St. Paul.

The sale is open to the public. Sale hours on Tuesday, Nov. 16, are from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check in at the reception desk in the lobby of the DNR building. For more information, contact the DNR Information Center at (651) 296-6157.
