St. Paul The plan to hold a first-ever governor’s duck opener has been shelved. Officials had planned to have the event sometime in the week after Saturday’s waterfowl opener, but scheduling conflicts prevented the hunt, said Ryan Bronson, the DNR’s hunt

The second-annual governor’s deer opener, which will be held in Grand Rapids, is still on, Bronson said. That event begins Thursday, Nov. 4. Joe Albert
