Windom, Minn. The Minnesota DNR will be releasing 10 trumpeter swans on Saturday, May 8 at Wolf Lake, east of Windom. The public may view the swans during a short program at 11:30 during the “Wings on the Prairie” day celebration at the U.S. Fish and Wil

The first releases by the DNR were conducted in northwestern Minnesota. These projects have resulted in a breeding population of more than 1,700 birds, more than one-third of the Midwest population. For more details on the Saturday release, call (507) 831-2220.
