DNR pitches regulation toolbox’ fisheries plan

St. Paul The Minnesota DNR unveiled a plan on Tuesday that is attempting to simplify special possession limits and length-based regulations for four species of game fish on individual lakes. Grand Rapids, Minn. The Minnesota DNR is considering removing the Forsyth Pit from the list of designated stream trout lakes.

The pit was designated as a trout lake in 1982 with the understanding that as a mine pit, it was a temporary recreational opportunity. The pit was managed for rainbow and brook trout.
