In the Devils Lake area of North Dakota on Tuesday, biologists
reported “tens of thousands” of snow geese, but colder weather
since then likely has altered their abundance.

Counts at Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge in northeastern
South Dakota earlier in the week indicated about 3,000 Canada geese
staging there, along with about 8,500 snow geese and 135,000
ducks.
