St. Cloud, Minn. A 54-year-old Rice man drowned in a quarry connected by a channel to the Mississippi River on Saturday night near the St. Cloud Country Club.

Clifford David Malikowski was fishing with friends near the quarry just west of the river when he fell into deeper water, according to the St. Cloud Police Department.
