“This is an important decision for the future of the Enforcement
Division,” says DNR Assistant Commissioner Brad Moore.

The enforcement director oversees the state’s conservation
officers. An immediate challenge will be training new officers to
fill about 25 vacant enforcement stations throughout the state.
More vacancies are expected as a significant number of officers are
reaching retirement age. Mark Johanson is the current acting
director of enforcement. Shawn Perich
