St. Paul The Nongame Wildlife Program of the Minnesota DNR is seeking volunteers to participate in a second loon survey on a subset of lakes in northeastern Minnesota’s Itasca, Cook, and Lake counties, July 15-24.

Because of many reports in this area of the state about chicks
hatching after the original survey period during the first part of
July, there’s a possibility that loon productivity is higher than
estimated from past surveys.
