Watson, Minn. A 40-day season wasn’t quite enough at Lac qui Parle. On Monday, a DNR official said about 147,000 geese were staging within the special goose hunting zone. Meanwhile, hunters have killed about 4,500 birds, well short of the 12,000-bird lim

Matt Norby, of the DNR at LqP, said hunting had been very good of late. The season was extended from 30 days to 40 days two years ago, as the peak of Canada goose migration was occurring after the season there had closed.
