Duluth, Minn. Worried about a dozen or so bears living in Duluth, the DNR may explore the possibility of an archery hunting season within the city limits.

DNR area wildlife manager Rich Staffon of Cloquet estimates 12
to 20 bears may be living in the city. That office has received
about 100 bear-complaint calls from Duluth residents since
April.

Hunts inside the city limits are rare, but conservation
officials already conduct an archery deer hunt in specific areas of
neighboring Superior, Wis., each fall.
