St. Paul DNR officials are encouraging those who’ve lost or misplaced their firearms safety certificates something needed in many cases for hunting in Minnesota and other states to apply for a replacement.

Jeff Thielen, DNR Enforcement education program coordinator said it’s those who hunt outside of Minnesota who encounter the most problems. The state of Colorado requires proof of hunter education or firearms safety for anyone born after Jan. 1, 1949.
