Charleston, W.V. Duluth, Minn. writer Michael Furtman was named the recipient of two writing awards during the Outdoor Writers Association of America conference in Charleston.

Furtman, a frequent Outdoor News contributor, garnered first place in OWAA’s Excellence in Craft National Book Award for his recently published book, “Duck Country.” He also received third place in the Big Game Magazine Writing category for his essay, “Remorse and Honor.” The book can be viewed, and the essay read, at Furtman’s website: www.michaelfurtman.com.
