Minneapolis Gov. Jesse Ventura plans to head down the Mississippi River next month on a personal watercraft to promote Minnesota.

Ventura said he and two friends will ride the river 1,800 miles from St. Paul to New Orleans in swimsuits and life preservers and on PWCs made by Medina-based Polaris Industries. Taylors Falls, Minn. The Citizens Advisory Committee for the Interstate State Park management planning process will meet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 25 at the Taylors Falls Community Center (the old Railroad Depot).

The group will review the draft mission, vision, and goals, and begin discussing natural and cultural resource management issues and solutions. This is the first of five meetings to discuss the direction of the park for the next 20 years. Each meeting will have a specific theme. The second meeting is slated for July 25.
