St. Paul Candidates for Minnesota governor will face off this spring regarding environmental issues in the state, including dedication of a portion of the state sales tax revenue to game and fish habitat.

All debates will occur at the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute at 301 19th Ave., in Minneapolis. Minneapolis The 35th Annual Gander Mountain/MinnKota Crappie Contest, scheduled for April 27 on Lake Minnetonka, should again draw thousands of anglers. The fishing contest will raise funds for the Minnesota Chapter of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Registration is available at any Gander Mountain store in the Twin Cities or St. Cloud. The fee for the contest is $5 at the stores or $6 the day of the event, which is headquartered at Lord Fletcher’s. Top prize in the adult division is a boat, motor and trailer package.
