OHV management is spring DNR focus

Field Editor St. Paul As off-roaders begin a new trail-riding season, the Minnesota DNR is stepping up management and enforcement activities for off-highway vehicles (OHVs) on state forest lands. DNR Assistant Commissioner Brad Moore says the agency has developed a work plan for the upcoming field season that will include trail planning and environmental assessment

St. Paul Applications for the 2002 Minnesota black bear hunting season now are being accepted by the Minnesota DNR through Friday, May 3.

This year, 20,610 licenses will be available in 11 permit areas. The season will run from Sept. 1 through Oct. 13. Applications can be made through the Electronic Licensing System and are available from 1,750 ELS agents throughout the state. Application also can be made by calling 1-888-MNLicense, or through the internet at www.dnr.state.mn.us.
