Dodgeville, Wis. Turkey hunters who plan on scouting hunting grounds in south-central Wisconsin for the spring turkey hunt are reminded a special deer hunt is occurring in Dane, Iowa, and part of Sauk counties. Wisconsin DNR officials recommend turkey hu

Under special permits, deer are being shot on both private and public lands. As of early last week, state officials said about 145 had been shot for testing. They hope to shoot 500, but said that could take several weeks.
