St. Paul Hunters wishing to pursue wild turkeys in Minnesota have until Dec. 7 to apply for a spring 2002 permit. Applications can be made at any DNR electronic licensing system agent. The cost is $3 to apply.
Also, applications can be made over the phone by DNR Instant
Licensing at 1-888-665-4236. An additional fee of $3.50 per
transaction will be charged for this phone service.
There will be eight five-day seasons between April 17 and May 28
in 50 wild turkey permit areas. A total of 24,136 permits will be
available for the spring 2002 season, a 5-percent increase over
last spring. Successful applicants will be notified by Feb. 15.
Residents must then purchase a turkey license and stamp if they
