Milwaukee The DNR has negotiated an option to buy lakefront
property for public access on 81-acre Moose Lake, in the town of
Merton in Waukesha County. There is no adequate public access to
Moose Lake now. Lake residents and the public are limited to one
private boat ramp on the south shore. The DNR has proposed to buy
the same property where the existing private ramp is located.
If the DNR buys the land, it would build a new boarding dock,
replace the boat ramp and clear the site for a parking lot that
will hold five rigs, and one additional disabled accessible parking
spot. A shore fishing pier would be added, with up to five
cars-only parking spaces for people using the fishing pier.
The DNR will accept written comments until Oct. 15. Send
comments to David Dahms, DNR, Southeast Region, P.O. Box 12436,
Milwaukee, WI 53212, or via email to email@example.com.
