Lake City, Minn. Kevin Stauffer has been named area fisheries supervisor at Lake City, replacing Tim Schlagenhaft, who recently accepted a regional planner position in Rochester.

Stauffer has been working as regional fisheries project coordinator in Bemidji for the past five years. He’s also served as assistant area fisheries manager in Montrose, and as fisheries specialist in Hutchinson. At Lake City, Stauffer will oversee a staff of eight full-time fisheries workers, responsible for portions of the Mississippi River and southeastern Minnesota

September Canada goose seasons this year will be essentially the same as last year, opening on the first Saturday in September statewide and running though Sept. 22, except in the Northwest Goose Zone, where the season will close on Sept. 15.

Daily bag limits will be five Canada geese, except in the Northwest Goose Zone and the Southeast Goose Zone, where the daily limit will be two Canada geese.
