Duluth, Minn. The public is invited to visit a Woodland/Voyageur archaeological site excavation at the Fall Lake Campground on the Superior National Forest. The site will be available for public viewing from June 26 to July 8.

Surface walkovers and test excavations have recovered artifacts dating from about 1000 AD to 1850 AD, the late Woodland and Fur Trade eras. Carbon samples will help determine the environmental conditions during occupation, season of occupation, and what types of plants and animals were available to the people who lived there.
