Breaking News for

Sportsmen Since 1967

Prior Lake, Minn. The Minnesota DNR recently dedicated the Don Ney Wildlife Management Area, a 160-acre WMA located in the southwest corner of Scott County, just south of the metro area.

The WMA includes wildlife nesting and winter cover and has
bluffs overlooking the Minnesota River. The land was sold to the
DNR below its appraised value by Ney, who has a history of
involvement with conservation.

Thanks to the efforts of the Scott County Pheasants Forever
Chapter, several sportsmen’s groups, Ducks Unlimited, the DNR, the
National Wild Turkey Federation, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service, recent wildlife management area additions in Scott County
exceed 400 acres, with acquisition and development costs of more
than $850,000.
