The Minnesota DNR is again offering adult level training for all types of game hunting in Minnesota and the Midwest.

Forest Lake, Minn. The Forest Lake Golden Rainbow Ice Fishing Contest will be held on Forest Lake on Feb. 4 from noon to 3 p.m. and will feature over $125,000 in prizes, including a 4X4 Ford pickup. The contest is sponsored by the Hopkins Jaycees.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the event or by calling (952) 903-4903, are available at several Twin Cities bait shops, or at Checker Automotive.

Shakopee, Minn. The Minnesota Walleye Expo comes to town this weekend, Feb. 2-4, at Canterbury Park in Shakopee.

The Expo will feature rods, reels, tackle, boats, art, and taxidermists. Some of the state’s best walleye anglers, including Outdoor News’ own “Tackle Terry” Tuma, will conduct seminars. Show hours are 3-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $6, while kids age 12
