Braham, Minn. An 8-year-old Braham boy died Sunday when the snowmobile he was driving collided with a train, authorities said.

Travis Dane Kadle was trailing his father, who was driving
another snowmobile, when he crossed the path of the train around
9:45 a.m., according to the Kanabec County Sheriff’s
Department.

Travis’ father apparently tried to warn his son about the
oncoming train, but the boy shot across the tracks, authorities
said.

In Minnesota, children under the age of 12 may drive a
snowmobile on public land or trails, as long as they are
accompanied by a parent or guardian.
