Adirondacks Fishing Report - November 29th, 2012
Deer hunters were making their final push as the Northern Zone firearms deer season headed for a close. It’s been a fairly solid season thus far despite the lack of a regionwide snowfall again this year heading into the Thanksgiving weekend. Some good bucks were taken and rutting activity was generally good from early November on.
On the fishing front, not a lot was being reported, although Lake Champlain guide Mickey Maynard had clients out connecting on some great smallmouths in the northern end of the lake. And Rachel Finn, a guide on the West Branch of the Ausable River, hit the river several times in mid-November – even after skiing at Whiteface Mountain earlier in the day – and caught several trout in the no-kill stretch of the Ausable.
Some were even taken on dry flies.
