EASTERN UP Pickford Area Pike fishing has picked up on Lake Huron around the islands at Cedarville. Minnows and smelt were both catching fish. All the bays from Moscow Channel to Hessel Bay are producing pike. Some splake are still being caught in Hessel Bay. Southern Lower Peninsula Fishing Report – May 20th, 2016

Lake St. Clair Anglers caught largemouth and smallmouth bass in 7 feet of water along the shoreline last week on Lake St. Clair. Most fish were caught south of the Clinton River cutoff launch and near the mouth of the Detroit River. Crankbaits produced the best results. Dark green and crayfish were good colors. NORTHWESTERN LP Traverse City Area Lake herring and lake trout were keeping anglers busy last week on Lake Michigan’s East Grand Traverse Bay. Those fishing Swedish pimples in  35 to 75 feet of water reported good results. EASTERN UP Pickford Area There was not much fishing effort at Raber Bay or Lime Island last week. Moving up the St. Marys River to Lake George, anglers report catching yellow perch on the east side of Sugar Island off Hay Bay in 30 feet of water. Shiner minnows seemed to work best. SOUTHEASTERN LP Lake St. Clair Dock and channel anglers on Lake St. Clair were still catching panfish on crawlers and minnows last week at the Selfridge launch. Boat anglers leaving Selfridge moved into the canals surrounding the area and caught crappie and perch. Boat  anglers fishing around Harley Ensign launch caught bluegills and perch as well.
